Flesh & Mortar - The Artists

Sarah Briggs, originally from Northern Ireland, studied a BA in fine art at Central Saint Martins, and has since exhibited in various galleries and venues in Ireland, Nice and London.
As well as bespoke private pieces her work has also been commissioned for restaurants, bars, offices and theatres. Sarah's core interest is in depicting the subconscious of the female mind through colour and form. Her parallel career in acting helps establish a deeper understanding of character, behaviour and performance.

Steven James Tyler studied a BA HONs in Art & Design at Central Saint Martins School Of Art where he specialised in Spatial Architectural Design. In this exhibition his main theme was to explore composition, depth and colour. Isolating an object or view to reveal its uniqueness and understated beauty, which in a large metropolis is otherwise overlooked - hopefully encouraging people in their busy day-to-day lives to stop a moment, and look up…

Having had exhibitions in the Republic of Ireland and in London, Steven has had his work published in “the Architect’s Journal” and reviews in “The Irish Post” Newspaper. When he’s not painting private commissions, Steven is an Actor, Spatial Design Consultant and Writer.

Jan Townsend is married with two children and lives in western Kent. Her artistic background is varied from the commercialised world of photographic retouching to fine art, which she studied at The Reigate School of Art as a mature student. Jan particularly enjoys exploring figurative and abstract forms of sculpture as shown in this exhibition.
