Statement I first visited South-East Asia in 1957, and worked there until 1987. During this period I travelled extensively within the region, invariably with camera. During an assignment to Sarawak in 1970, I used the opportunity to record the people of that region. Of particular interest was the Ibans, whose way of life was inexorably being eroded.
Boys playing, Indonesia Later appointments took me to Singapore and Indonesia. Once again I privileged to witness changing social conditions. 1997 saw a return to England, and the opportunity to photograph my native country as a returning expatriate.
