17 - 19 May 2005 Rupert Record & Niki Holmes Journey : Paintings inspired by the poetry and drama of landscape.
"Journey" looks at the memory of landscape through the eyes of two Royal Academy trained painters whose contemporary and classical eye reflects this resilient and diverse subject. Niki Holmes and Rupert Record reflect a new Romanticism, and play between experience and imagination. Both artists reconstruct landscapes and dreamscapes as a visual poetry and recurrent patterns, to suggest personal narratives and transient yet timeless impressions.
