James's fine art prints have been exhibited in Cuba, London, Manchester and Glasgow, including a joint exhibition with Rankin, the fashion photographer. His photographs have also been used in a wide range of publications including a promotional book, 'The Spirit of Cuba', and in conjunction with Rankin and Dazed and Confused magazine.

James studied photography at the London College of Printing where he achieved a distinction.
